Some fall and winter photography

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

Well, I hesitated even adding ‘winter’ into the title of this post because winter is barely here! Being that it’s the middle of December and we still haven’t seen the first snow, I really don’t feel like fall has left us!

I’m still having fun with my Canon Rebel and figuring out this whole photography-thing. Being that we have so many animals around this house – I can’t help but make them the regular subjects of my experiements.

Here’s some of my photos from the past couple months:

Creativity Kicks In

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

Things have been busy around here – teaching at Montserrat College of Art has been a blast – and is really rekindling my creativity! It’s amazing to see what my students produce, and completely inspiring to be back surrounded by such a vast amount art! I’ve been back in my studio painting again recently – after quite a long hiatus during grad school – and I’ve also been drawing regularly again as well. It’s nice to get away from the computer every once in awhile! :) (more…)

What Spring Brings

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Spring has definitely hit here in New England – the trees have their leaves again, the temps are in the 70′s, and I even harvested my first radishes and lettuce from my vegetable garden! But the world being in bloom isn’t the only excitement around here – I’m also looking forward to finally finishing my Masters Degree in Interactive Design & Game Development from SCAD – and I’ll be walking across the stage on May 29th to get my degree. All the long nights, and lack of weekend fun for the past couple years have paid off! (more…)

Crutches and Unfortunate Feet

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

I finished up a quick side project a couple weeks ago fixing up a pair of crutches for a good friend of ours who got in a bad motorcycle accident nearly a year ago and is, unfortunately, still on crutches. I painted them black with some darts and spark plugs on them – and figured I would post some really bad pictures I took while in the car on the way to deliver them (yay! for bad photos!)

AND in other "Unfortunate Foot" related news one of our Great Danes, Clementine broke her foot badly on Monday playing in the backyard with her brother. She could either be looking at 2-3 months of healing, or possibly even amputation of one of her toes. Poor girl, shes so depressed because she’s not allowed to walk at all other than to go outside to go to the bathroom – and my husband has to carry her everywhere (it’s a good thing he can – because I sure can’t lift a 100lb dog). Think good thoughts for Clementine.
